The International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) in Trieste, Italy (http://www.sissa.it/)
calls for applications to the PhD program in "Statistical Physics",
which starts on 4 November 2013.
Up to 5 applicants will be selected via the entrance exam scheduled for 2-3 October 2013.
The deadline for applications is *16 September 2013*.

The Statistical Physics group is engaged in theoretical research spanning some of the central
topics of the field. The range of activities includes critical phenomena, conformal field theory
and deformations thereof, lattice and field-theoretical integrable models, statistical field
theory, cold atom physics, non-equilibrium systems, Casimir effects, quantum disordered systems,
quantum computation and complex systems. The variety and quality of the research performed here
in close collaboration with scientists of the ICTP - Abdus Salam International Centre for
Theoretical Physics (http://www.ictp.it/) create an exciting and unique learning environment for
students at all levels.
